Orioles Throw Away Another Quality Start by Guthrie

Guthrie pitched a terrific eight innings against the Angels, giving up just one earned run on three hits and retiring 14 of 15 batters within one particular span. Nevertheless, the Orioles bullpen once again threw away the game by giving up a go-ahead homer in the bottom of the ninth. It was the sixth straight oustanding start by Guthrie, who lowered his ERA to an impressive 2.76. Guthrie threw 64 of 88 pitches for strikes and struck out four batters. Hopefully the bullpen will tighten their reins in the future and help Guthrie and the Orioles capture the wins they deserve.
